Jeddah Season transport works best when you treat the season as a programme spread across the city, not as one venue. Each event you attend is two private journeys, one out and one back, and each must be booked at least 48 hours ahead. So the practical method is to fix your tickets first, list every outing with its venue, date and start time, then book the whole set in one or two sittings, with a clear return pickup for every evening. Do that and the season becomes a series of simple rides rather than a nightly search for a car.
This guide is for visitors spending several days in Jeddah during the season, residents hosting family, and groups of friends who want private cars between hotels and events. It explains what Jeddah Season is according to official sources, why its zones change from year to year, how to build a week of outings into bookings, how to choose vehicles for a group, how waiting works at a hotel door, and what to do when the programme changes. A planning table, a worked example with an ordinary group of friends and a numbered checklist follow.

What Jeddah Season is, according to official sources
Saudipedia’s entry on Jeddah Season describes it as one of the entertainment seasons launched under the Saudi Seasons initiative, with artistic, musical, cultural, recreational and sports events. The first edition ran from 8 June to 29 July 2019. A second edition followed in May and June 2022, and a third in 2024 under the theme “Once Again”. Saudipedia records around 2,800 events in 2022, and about 5,000 events and around 2 million visitors in 2024.
Visit Saudi’s Jeddah Season page described the 2025 edition as 85 days of live music, beach fun, family adventures and cultural experiences. The Saudi Press Agency reported on 12 July 2025 that the integrated summer programme had launched under the theme “Jeddah is Different”, naming the Jeddah Promenade on the Jeddah Waterfront, a “Western Coast” event in the Obhur area and a Jeddah Shopping Festival in major shopping centres.
The season has also stretched beyond summer. The Saudi Press Agency reported that Winter Wonderland Jeddah, organised by Jeddah Season 2025, would open on 19 December 2025 with four zones and a daily capacity of more than 15,000 visitors, and that Jeddah Season would host Sneaker Con 2026 at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit from 1 to 3 February 2026.
What we cannot tell you
We have not found an official page, at the time of writing, giving the dates, zones or venues for the next edition of Jeddah Season. We therefore give no future dates here. For the current programme, check the official Jeddah Season channels, the Visit Saudi events calendar and the ticketing page for each event. Opening hours, entry rules, age limits and road arrangements are set by the organisers and the authorities for each event, and they are the people to ask.
Why Jeddah Season transport starts with the map, not the calendar
The most useful fact for anyone planning Jeddah Season transport is that the zones move. Saudipedia lists very different zones for different editions:
- 2019: Historic Jeddah, the Al-Hamra Corniche, the Waterfront, King Abdullah Sports City and Obhur, plus King Abdullah Economic City.
- 2022: nine zones, including City Walk, Jeddah Pier, Colorful Garden, Adrinaland, Jeddah Jungle, Jeddah Yacht Club, Jeddah Superdome, Jeddah Art Promenade and Historic Jeddah.
- 2024: five entertainment zones.
Those places sit in different parts of a long coastal city, and in 2019 some events were held outside it. A week that mixes a waterfront evening, a concert at a large venue and an afternoon in the historic district can involve several quite different routes from the same hotel. We do not quote journey times, and we only give distances from our own live route checks, so the reliable way to judge each trip is the route summary in the transfer finder for that exact pickup and destination.
Before booking, put your outings on a map. It helps to know which ones are near your hotel, which are across town, and which are outside the city altogether, such as King Abdullah Economic City in the 2019 edition. Our guide to the right destination when travelling to KAEC explains why a precise address matters for longer trips.
Getting to Jeddah Season events: the venue behind the ticket
Getting to Jeddah Season events depends on knowing the actual venue, which is not always obvious from an event’s name. A festival title, a brand name or a zone name can hide an address that the booking form does not recognise.
For each ticket, write down:
- the venue or zone, as the organiser names it;
- the address or map pin the organiser publishes;
- the date and the doors-open or entry time;
- any instructions about arriving by car or taxi, drop-off areas or re-entry.
Then type the venue into the transfer finder and check the route summary to see what the search has actually found. If the result is ambiguous, choose the nearest clearly named place and describe the venue and entry point in the booking notes. We do not promise a gate, entrance or drop-off spot, because where a car may stop on an event night is managed by the organiser and traffic staff on the day.
For events at the large venues, our guides to Jeddah Superdome by taxi and match-day transport to King Abdullah Sports City go into those venues in detail. For waterfront zones, our note on which part of the Jeddah Corniche to ask for helps you name the right stretch of the seafront.
Building a season week into bookings
A Jeddah Season taxi booking is still an ordinary Jeddah Cabs journey: one pickup place, one destination, a date and time in Saudi local time (UTC+3), passengers and bags. The pickup and destination must differ, so every there-and-back outing is two journeys, each booked with its own time. The outward booking does not keep a car waiting through the event.
The 48-hour rule shapes the whole week. You cannot book a journey online for tomorrow evening, so the season rewards people who plan their outings in advance. The simplest pattern is:
- Buy or reserve the event tickets first.
- List every outing in a single table, with venue, date, start time and your best guess at the finish.
- Book the outward and return journeys for all of them together, at least 48 hours before the first one.
- Keep the booking references beside the ticket for each event.
A planning table for a season stay
This table shows the types of journey a season visitor usually needs, and the detail that most often gets missed.
| Journey | Typical pickup and destination | Timing basis | Detail people forget |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arrival | King Abdulaziz International Airport to hotel | After landing, allowing for passport control and bags | Flight number at checkout |
| Daytime family zone | Hotel to the zone | Opening time on the ticket | Child seats added in the search |
| Waterfront evening | Hotel to the named stretch of seafront | Sunset or event start | Which part of the waterfront |
| Concert or show out | Hotel to venue | Doors-open time, not the headline act | The entry point named on the ticket |
| Concert or show back | Meeting point near venue to hotel | After the expected finish, with a margin | After midnight, the date is the next day |
| Historic district visit | Hotel to Historic Jeddah | Opening of the activity you want | Drop-off at one side, pickup at another |
| Departure | Hotel to the airport terminal | Airline’s check-in deadline, worked backwards | Terminal written in the notes |
For the return leg in detail, including meeting points and dates that cross midnight, read our guide to pickup after a late event in Jeddah. We do not repeat that advice here, but the date point bears repeating: a pickup at 00:30 after an evening on the 14th is a pickup on the 15th.
Collecting friends on the way
If your group is staying in two hotels, you do not always need two cars. A journey can include up to 8 stops in journey order, so one booking can start at the first hotel, stop at the second, and continue to the venue. The return can do the same in reverse. Check the route summary with the stops added, and make sure the vehicle has room for everyone once the last person is aboard.
Choosing a vehicle for a Jeddah Season taxi
Event outings are usually light on luggage, so seats matter more than boot space. The search shows only classes that pass the capacity check for your party. Examples from the live booking system (seats and large bags, “or similar”):
- Economy, such as a Toyota Camry class car: 4 seats
- Business and Executive: 4 seats
- Hyundai Staria VIP van or Chevrolet Tahoe premium SUV: 6 seats
- Hyundai H1 family van or GMC Yukon XL: 7 seats
- Toyota Hiace: 11 seats; Toyota Coaster minibus: 19 seats; Coach: 53 seats
A group of five friends has a choice between two four-seat cars and one six-seat vehicle. One larger vehicle keeps the group together at the end of the night, which is often the harder moment. For bigger parties, our guide to choosing a Jeddah taxi for seven passengers or more explains the larger classes. If anyone needs a wheelchair-accessible vehicle or a child seat, add it in the search so it is confirmed for the vehicle.
Waiting at the hotel door and at the venue
Free waiting counts from the booked pickup time, not from when the car arrives. On an event evening, the outward pickup from a hotel is where waiting usually matters: children to dress, a relative to collect from another floor, a group that meets in the lobby late.
| Vehicle class | Free waiting from booked time | Rate after that |
|---|---|---|
| Economy | 15 minutes | SAR 1.50 per minute |
| Business and Executive, VIP van (Staria), MPV family van (H1) | 30 minutes | SAR 2.00 per minute |
| Minibus (Hiace or Coaster), Coach | 30 minutes | SAR 2.50 per minute |
| Premium SUV (Tahoe or Yukon) | 45 minutes | SAR 2.50 per minute |
| Luxury (S-Class) | 60 minutes | SAR 4.00 per minute |
Extra waiting can be added at checkout in 15-minute steps up to 2 hours, priced at the class’s per-minute rate, and the driver’s instructions show the total. On the return leg, extra waiting can cover an event that may run a little late, but it is not a substitute for choosing a sensible pickup time. Waiting beyond what was booked is not guaranteed.
When the programme changes
Season programmes can shift: an event moves to another night, a show is added, a start time changes. Handle each change according to what has moved.
Only the time has changed. In your account, use “Request a new pickup time” on the paid booking, before the booked pickup time. An approved change carries a £5 rescheduling fee, converted into your booking currency (about SAR 25), added to the cash you pay the driver. A rejected request costs nothing. Only one open request of each type is allowed per booking.
The venue, date, group size or vehicle has changed. These cannot be changed online. Contact the booking team, or make a new booking and request cancellation of the old one.
You no longer want to go. Bookings are subject to our cancellation terms (free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before pickup; inside 48 hours the deposit element of the price is kept) if you cancel. If we or the transport partner cancel, or cannot supply the journey and you do not accept a suitable alternative, you receive a full refund for the affected journey. This is why it pays to buy tickets before booking cars, not the other way round.
Worked example: three friends and a five-night season stay
Hana, Leila and their cousin Maryam are spending five nights in Jeddah during the season. Hana and Leila share a hotel near the waterfront; Maryam is staying with an aunt in another district. They have tickets for a concert on their second night, a family zone with Maryam’s two young nephews on the fourth afternoon, and they want an evening on the seafront on the third night.
Tickets first. They buy the concert and family-zone tickets a fortnight before travelling, and note the venue addresses and doors-open times the organisers publish.
The list. Hana writes seven journeys: the airport arrival, concert out and back, seafront out and back, and family zone out and back. The seafront evening is flexible, so she books it too, knowing the booking is subject to our cancellation terms (free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before pickup; inside 48 hours the deposit element of the price is kept) if they change their minds.
The concert. The outward journey starts at the aunt’s house, stops at the hotel for Hana and Leila, and continues to the venue: one booking with one stop. They choose a Staria so all three ride together. The return goes from a meeting point they pick from the organiser’s map, first to the hotel, then to the aunt’s house. Because the concert should finish near midnight, Hana checks the date and books the return for the following day.
The family zone. With two children, they add two child seats. Maryam’s sister joins them, making six, so they stay with a six-seat class. The pickup is from the aunt’s house, where the children are likely to be slow to leave, so Hana adds 30 minutes of extra waiting.
Payment and status. Hana pays the deposits online, notes the cash balances shown for each journey, and waits for every booking to read Confirmed.
The change. The organiser moves the family-zone opening one hour later. Hana requests a new pickup time for both family-zone journeys. Each approved change adds £5, in the booking currency, to the cash due to the driver.
Payment and the rules that apply
Jeddah Cabs may take only a deposit online, 30% for a single journey, 40% for a multi-leg booking and 50% for a return, with the balance paid in cash directly to the driver. Checkout shows both amounts, and your account shows “Cash due to driver” for each booking. The key rules:
- Online bookings need at least 48 hours’ notice before pickup.
- Each journey has a minimum booking value equivalent to £40, shown as a “Minimum booking amount” line if a fare would be lower.
- Payment secures a provisional request. The status should update within 1 to 12 hours; the journey is booked only when it reads Confirmed.
- If you book for someone else, checkout asks for the traveller’s name and phone and an emergency contact.
If you are flying in for the season, the arrival itself is a journey worth planning; our page on airport to hotel transfers in Jeddah sets out how it works.
Jeddah Season transport checklist

- Write down each venue’s address or map pin and the doors-open time.
- Put every outing on a map and check each route summary in the transfer finder.
- Book each outing as two journeys, at least 48 hours before the first pickup.
- Use stops to collect friends from a second hotel on the way.
- Check the return date for any pickup after midnight.
- Choose one vehicle that keeps the group together, and add child seats or a wheelchair need in the search.
- Add extra waiting for hotel pickups with children or older relatives.
- Wait until every booking reads Confirmed, and keep references beside the tickets.
- If an event moves, request a new pickup time straight away, or contact the booking team for other changes.
