Jeddah Yacht Club is a marina complex on the Jeddah Corniche, in the Ash Shati district, with a waterfront promenade of restaurants and cafés called Marina Walk, a private members’ club, a sailing academy, a hotel and yacht charters. Getting there by private car is simple once you know which part you are visiting: book a journey from your hotel to the complex by name, say in the booking notes which of the restaurants, the academy or a boat you are going to, and book the ride back as a separate journey from the same place at a time you set in advance. Most visitors go for dinner by the water. A smaller number go for a boat trip from Jeddah, and that needs the boat’s own confirmation before the car is booked.
This guide is for visitors and residents staying in Jeddah hotels who want an evening at Marina Walk, a sailing course or a charter from the marina. It explains what the complex contains according to its own website and official sources, how the purpose of your visit changes the booking, how to time the return after a meal or a boat trip, and how the booking rules apply. It does not cover other marinas on the coast, which each need their own checks.
What Jeddah Yacht Club is
Saudipedia’s entry on the club places it on the Jeddah Corniche on the Red Sea coast, records that it opened in 2021 and gives its area as about 112,000 square metres. It describes maintenance and refuelling facilities, shops, a five-star hotel and restaurants, and notes that the club took part in Jeddah Season 2022 with fireworks and live performances.
The complex’s own website sets out its parts:
- Marina Walk, the public waterfront of restaurants, cafés and shops;
- the Yacht Club itself, described as an exclusive private membership club with lounges, a gym, padel courts and a beach club;
- JYC Marina, with 94 berths and room for yachts of up to 120 metres;
- JYC Academy, an RYA-accredited sailing and watersports training centre that the site says is open to the public;
- The Jeddah EDITION, a hotel on the Corniche which the site describes as adjacent to the Formula 1 track;
- yacht charters, including the M/Y JYC for up to ten guests and Riva boat experiences that range from one hour to eight hours.
The practical point for transport is that “the yacht club” can mean any of these. A restaurant booking, a sailing lesson and a charter may each start at a different part of the site.
Getting to the Jeddah Yacht Club: what to type in the booking
The contact page gives the address as Al Kurnaysh Branch Road, Ash Shati, Jeddah 23613, and links a map pin. When you book, type “Jeddah Yacht Club” or the name of the specific venue, then check that the route summary ends where you expect.
Then use the booking notes to say which part you need:
- the name of the restaurant or café on Marina Walk, for dinner;
- the Academy, for a lesson or course;
- the hotel entrance, if you are staying at or meeting someone at the hotel;
- the name of the charter and any boarding instructions the operator gave you, for a boat trip.
We do not promise where a car may stop. Arrival points and drop-off areas at a large venue are managed on the day, and the driver will set you down at the nearest practical point to the place you name. If the venue has sent you arrival instructions, copy the relevant line into the notes.
The contact page also lists paid parking, valet parking and electric vehicle charging. Those matter if you drive yourself; with a booked car, the driver sets you down and the journey ends.
Dining at Marina Walk
For most visitors, getting to the Jeddah Yacht Club means an evening meal by the water. The club’s dining page describes Marina Walk as having more than ten restaurants, more than two cafés and more than three shops. It lists Italian, Lebanese, Egyptian and Saudi seafood restaurants alongside speciality coffee shops, and gives each venue’s own hours, some of which run late into the night. The complex’s contact page lists operating hours running into the early hours, later at weekends.
A dinner visit is two journeys:
- Hotel to the marina complex, with the restaurant named in the notes and a pickup time that gets you there a little before your table.
- The marina complex back to the hotel, from the same named point, at the time you expect to finish.
Book the table first, with the restaurant itself. A transport booking does not reserve a table, and a table reservation does not arrange a car. The Jeddah Cabs note on making the restaurant a real final stop explains why the venue, not the district, should be the destination.
After dinner
A late dinner is the most common reason a return pickup goes wrong. If the meal ends after midnight, the pickup falls on the next calendar date. A boat trip from Jeddah: what the operator decides
A boat trip from Jeddah involves two separate arrangements: the boat, which belongs to the charter operator, and the road journeys to and from the marina, which are yours to book. Keep them apart in your mind and in your planning.
The operator decides:
- whether the trip runs, and whether weather or sea conditions cancel or shorten it;
- where you board, and how early you must arrive;
- how long the trip lasts and where it returns;
- what you may bring, and any identity or safety requirements.
Ask the operator all of these before you book the car. At this marina, the club’s marina page describes the M/Y JYC and the Riva experiences; contact details for both are on the club’s website.
Check the operator is licensed
Marine tourism on the Saudi Red Sea coast is regulated. Saudipedia’s page on the Saudi Red Sea Authority says the Authority issues permits and licences for marine tour operators, maritime tourism agents, large yacht chartering, marina operations and marine tourism watercraft. If you book a boat trip with an operator you do not know, ask for its licence details before you pay, and book through the operator’s official channels.
Timing the ride back after a boat
Boats do not always return to the minute. A late return, a change of berth or a slow disembarkation can all push the end of the trip. When you set the return pickup:
- start from the time the operator says the boat will be back alongside;
- add a margin for getting ashore and walking to the meeting point;
- name the meeting point in words, not only as a pin;
- keep a phone charged, so you can share a live location with the driver.

If the boat trip is called off
Weather and sea conditions are the operator’s call, and a trip can be cancelled or shortened at short notice. Your road journeys are separate bookings and stay in place unless you change them. Think about a fallback before the day: if the boat does not sail, would you still like dinner at Marina Walk, a walk on the promenade or simply the ride back to the hotel? If the fallback means coming home earlier, a new pickup time can be requested from your account before the original time, which carries the rescheduling fee described below if approved. Sailing courses and the Academy
The Saudi Press Agency reported in July 2026 that the club’s maritime academy holds Royal Yachting Association accreditation, teaches dinghy and keelboat sailing, wingfoiling and powerboat handling to adults and children, and runs summer camps for children aged 7 to 15. The club’s own site says courses are booked online through Webook after an enrolment form.
For a course, the transport pattern is a drop-off before the session and a pickup after it. A course running on several days is several pairs of journeys, each booked with its own date and time. For a child attending a camp, the booking can be made by a parent for someone else: checkout then asks for the traveller’s name and phone and an emergency contact.

Worked example: a birthday on the water
Ravi Nair is organising his mother’s seventieth birthday in Jeddah. The family of six, including his father and his two teenage children, want a short trip on the water followed by dinner at Marina Walk.
Ravi books a one-hour Riva trip through the club’s official contact details and asks three questions: where they board, how early to arrive, and what happens if the sea is rough. He books a table at a seafood restaurant for an hour after the boat is due back.
Then he books the road journeys:
- Journey 1: hotel to the marina, arriving with time to spare before boarding, with a note that says “Riva boat trip, boarding point as advised by the operator; then dinner at Marina Walk”.
- Journey 2: the marina back to the hotel, timed for after dinner, with the restaurant named in the notes.
Six people with small bags fit the six-seat classes, such as the Hyundai Staria and the Premium SUV, and larger ones. Ravi compares them in the planner and picks the Staria. He books both journeys a week ahead and waits for each to read Confirmed. The checkout shows the deposit paid online and the cash due to each driver.
The boat comes back a little late. Because dinner sat between the boat and the car, nothing else moves.
Coming from the airport or staying at the marina
Some visitors arrive in Jeddah and go straight to the marina, usually because they are staying at the hotel there or joining a boat. An airport arrival is a separate journey from any outing, built around your flight number, which checkout asks for on airport journeys. If you are staying at the hotel, make the hotel itself the destination, by name, and check the route summary.
Going from the airport straight to a boat trip is rarely a good idea. Flights run late, luggage needs somewhere to go, and a charter will not wait indefinitely. Visiting with children, older relatives or a wheelchair
Marina Walk is a promenade, so the distance between the drop-off point and your restaurant or boat may be more than it looks from the road. Before you go:
- ask the restaurant or operator how far the entrance or boarding point is from the drop-off area;
- ask about step-free access to the boat, since boarding a yacht usually involves a gangway or step;
- add a wheelchair requirement, child seats or boosters in the search, so they are confirmed for the vehicle;
- name a meeting point for the return that is easy to reach, even if it is not the door of the restaurant.
The club’s academy runs children’s programmes, as noted above, so if a child is attending alone, make sure the traveller details and the emergency contact at checkout are correct.
Pairing the marina with other waterfront plans
The marina sits on the same coast as many of Jeddah’s other evening plans. If you want to combine it with something else, keep each place as its own journey or as a short stop, and name each one precisely. Event nights and road closures
Saudipedia records that the club has hosted Jeddah Season events, and its own site describes the neighbouring hotel as next to the Formula 1 track. On a race weekend, during a festival or on a night with fireworks, roads around the Corniche can be much busier or managed differently. On those dates, check the organiser’s travel advice, choose a meeting point you can reach on foot, and allow more time at both ends. Booking rules that apply
- Notice: online bookings need at least 48 hours’ notice before each pickup, so book both journeys as soon as the table or the boat is confirmed.
- Status: payment secures a provisional request; the booking team updates the status within 1 to 12 hours, and a journey is booked only when it reads Confirmed.
- Minimum value: each journey has a minimum booking value equivalent to £40, which is most likely to show on a short city journey.
- Payment: Jeddah Cabs may take only a deposit online, with the balance paid in cash to the driver; the checkout shows both amounts.
- Changes: only the pickup time can be changed online, before the pickup time. An approved new time carries a £5 rescheduling fee, converted into the booking currency and added to the cash paid to the driver. A different place, more passengers or another vehicle needs the booking team, or a new booking plus a cancellation request.
- Cancellations: bookings are subject to our cancellation terms (free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before pickup; inside 48 hours the deposit element of the price is kept) if you cancel, including when you cancel because a boat trip was called off by its operator. That last point is why the order matters: confirm the boat or the table first, then book the car.
Checklist before you book
- Decide which part of the complex you are visiting: Marina Walk, the Academy, the hotel or a boat.
- Confirm the table, the course or the charter with the venue or operator first.
- For a boat, ask where you board, when to arrive, when it returns and what happens in bad weather.
- Check that any boat operator you do not know is licensed.
- Type Jeddah Yacht Club or the venue by name, check the route summary and add the purpose in the notes.
- Set the return time with a margin, and the right date if it falls after midnight.
- Enter the real party and choose a class with room for everyone.
- Book both journeys at least 48 hours ahead and wait for each to read Confirmed.
