The Hajj and Umrah Complex
A specialised facility for pilgrims, described by the airport as spanning over half a million square metres. Pilgrims flying home after Umrah or Hajj should check whether their flight departs from here.
Where to find your terminal
The most reliable source is your airline: the e-ticket, the booking confirmation, the airline’s app or its customer service. The airport’s website also has a flight information page where you can search departures and filter by airline. Check once when you book the transfer, and again a day or two before you fly, because operational changes happen. If the two sources disagree, follow the airline and ask it to confirm.
Why the terminal matters for the driver
Terminals at a large airport are not a few steps apart. The airport’s parking and transport page describes designated pick-up and drop-off areas near Terminal 1 and separate drop-off zones near the North Terminal entrance. The same page mentions a shuttle bus connecting the terminals, which helps if you are dropped at the wrong one, but relying on a shuttle when check-in is closing is not a plan.
With the terminal in the booking, the driver heads for the right building from the start. Without it, you are asking the driver to guess, or to find out from you as you approach the airport, which is the worst moment to be checking an e-ticket.

A departure transfer to Jeddah airport should be timed from the flight, not from a guess about the road. We do not quote journey times, because they vary widely with traffic, time of day and the day of the week. Instead, work back from your flight.

Putting the terminal and flight in the booking
At checkout, enter the flight number exactly as it appears on the ticket, including the airline code. Then use the notes. A good departure note is short and specific:
- “Departing from the North Terminal, [airline], flight [number].”
- “Two older travellers; please help with bags at drop-off if possible.”
- “Hotel pickup from the main lobby entrance of [hotel name].”
Keep the note factual. Avoid vague wording such as “international departures”, which does not name a building.
If you are booking for someone else
Checkout requires a mobile number for the customer. If the booking is for someone else, the traveller’s name, the traveller’s phone and an emergency contact are required. For a departure, make sure the traveller’s phone is the one they will carry on the morning they leave, and send them the terminal and flight details too.
If the flight, time or terminal changes
Changes are more common than people expect, especially with connecting flights or airline schedule updates.
The time changes
If the airline moves your departure, request a new pickup time from your account before the original pickup time. You can add an optional note. The request remains pending until the booking team approves it, and only one open request of each type is allowed per booking. An approved new time carries a £5 rescheduling fee, converted into your booking currency and added to the cash paid to the driver at pickup. A rejected request costs nothing.
The terminal changes
The destination is still the airport, but the building has changed. Tell the booking team in writing, quoting your booking reference, the new terminal and the flight number, so the change reaches the driver.
The pickup place changes
If you move hotel before your flight, that is a change of pickup place, which cannot be made online. Contact the booking team, or make a new booking plus a cancellation request. Luggage and the vehicle on the way out
Departures often carry more than arrivals. Gifts, shopping and an extra case can push a party past the large-bag figure of the class it arrived in. Enter the luggage you expect on the morning you leave, not the luggage you landed with.
The search shows only vehicle classes that pass the capacity check for your party and luggage. For example, the live checks show that four adults with four large cases need a Premium SUV or larger, and five adults with five large cases need a seven-seat vehicle or larger. Families on different flights or terminals
When relatives leave on different flights, they may also leave from different terminals. Book each departing flight as its own journey, with its own flight number and notes. Up to 8 stops can be added in journey order, so one vehicle can drop at two terminals in turn if the flight times suit, but only if you describe both drop-offs clearly. Where the flights are hours apart, two journeys are kinder than one long wait at the airport.
Travellers who need help
The airport describes zones designated for passengers with limited mobility at each terminal. If a traveller needs a wheelchair, add the wheelchair requirement in the search so it is confirmed for the vehicle, and ask the airline in advance about assistance inside the terminal. In the notes, tell the booking team who needs help and at which terminal.
Paying on the day
On Jeddah Cabs, the checkout may take only a deposit online, with the balance paid in cash to the driver. The morning of departure from a Jeddah hotel
The last morning of a trip is usually the busiest. A little preparation the evening before keeps the Jeddah airport drop off for departures calm.
The evening before
- Read the driver-assigned email. When a driver is assigned, you receive an email with the vehicle registration, meeting and waiting instructions, and a link to view the vehicle photo securely in your account. Note the registration.
- Check the terminal once more in the airline’s app.

On the morning
Be in the lobby, with bags, a few minutes before the pickup time. Keep your phone switched on and charged, because the driver may call or message when arriving. Contact the booking team straight away, and the driver too if you have been given their details. The earlier they know, the more options there are.
Pilgrims flying home after Umrah
Many travellers leaving through Jeddah are pilgrims flying home after Umrah. The airport’s Hajj and Umrah Complex is a dedicated facility for pilgrims, so check with the airline whether your return flight departs from there or from another terminal, and write the answer in the notes.

Pilgrims often carry more on the way home than on arrival. Check your airline’s rules for anything you plan to carry, and enter the full luggage count in the search so the vehicle fits. A worked example: the Adeyemis leave from two terminals
Grace Adeyemi and her husband Samuel are ending a two-week stay at a Jeddah hotel. Samuel’s mother, Comfort, is flying home on a different airline on the same day, three hours after them.
Grace checks both e-tickets and the airlines’ apps. Her own flight leaves from Terminal 1. Comfort’s leaves from the North Terminal. The two flights are hours apart, so Grace books two departure journeys rather than one with two drops:
- Journey one: hotel to King Abdulaziz International Airport for Grace and Samuel, with two adults, three large cases and two cabin bags. At checkout she enters their flight number. In the notes: “Departing from Terminal 1.”
- Journey two: hotel to the airport for Comfort, one adult, one large case and a cabin bag, booked for her, with Comfort’s own phone as the traveller’s phone and Grace as emergency contact. In the notes: “Departing from the North Terminal. Older traveller, please help with her case if possible.”
Both journeys are booked more than 48 hours ahead and read Confirmed. Two days before flying, Grace checks the apps again. Comfort’s flight has moved later. Grace requests a new pickup time for journey two from the account, with a note giving the new flight time. It is approved, and the £5 rescheduling fee, converted into the booking currency, is added to Comfort’s cash for the driver. Journey one is unchanged.
On the morning, each driver goes to the right building, because each booking named one.
